If you’ve used a blender before, what was missing? Between the Vitamix E320 vs 5300, both are fantastic choices for home use. They can blend, puree, crush, knead, churn, and do lots more with their 10 variable speed settings and 2.2 HP motor.
Both blenders are also quite easy to use with a comfortable speed dial and a pulse button. They also allow you to NOT clean the blades or the inside of the jar by hand. All thanks to the self-cleaning function that gets rid of tough stains and chunks of food from under the blades within seconds.
For these reasons, and lots more, it’s a resounding tie between the Vitamix E320 Explorian Blender vs Vitamix 5300.

Vitamix E320 vs 5300: Differences
It’s a tie between the Vitamix E320 Explorian Blender vs 5300 because they have the same container size, build quality, size, blade speed, powerful motor, and additional accessories.
With just a minor difference between their cord lengths – the 5300 is longer (6 feet) than the E320 (4.5 feet). Though this does not affect the blending performance and build quality of the blenders.
Vitamix E320 vs 5300: Similarities
1. Blending Performance
Both blenders feature stainless steel blades, 4-inch in diameter, with a BPA-free 64-ounce container jar. The motor rating is 2.2 HP with a pulse switch and 10 variable speed settings. You can adjust from low to high with the turn of the speed dial. Or even use the Pulse button for short bursts of high blade speed.
The Pulse button is especially helpful when breaking down thick chunks for smoothies or milkshakes to avoid any lumps. It also controls the texture of the blend without making it too thin. Nobody likes a watery or liquidy milkshake, right? If you want to maintain the icy and thick consistency of the milkshake, the Pulse button is your friend.
Speaking of blending performance, I should also mention the 2.2 HP motor which is efficient and powerful to use. It’s strong enough to make butter, grind coffee beans, automatically knead the dough, and do lots more than an average food processor or mixer cannot do.
2. Controls / Settings
The 64-ounce container can hold 2 cups of ingredients at a time. This may not be the ideal choice for small quantities – say you want to blend 1 cup of ingredients only. But in some cases, that will do too.
Moreover, the blenders come with 10 speeds that are accurate and easy to adjust. For thinner ingredients, like bananas or yoghurt, you can use the low settings. But for breaking down and blending hard ingredients, such as beetroot or ice, the higher speeds would suffice.
It eases the pain of blending vegetables for juices which you can consume every day. Also, it eases the discomfort of kneading the dough by hand or churning butter at home. You can throw all the ingredients in the blender, as long as it’s under 2 cups, and the blender takes care of everything.
3. Cleaning
Cleaning is quick and effortless. The container jars come with sturdy handles for easy accessibility. You don’t need to hold the container with both hands while rinsing it under tap water. Just hold the jar’s handle and you will be able to do it quicker.
After blending a thick food like hummus or baby food, just empty the container, add some warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Close the lid and blend it on a high setting (self-cleaning setting) for 30 to 60 seconds.
Food stuck under the blades become unstuck and clean beautifully afterwards.
The blenders also come with a safety switch to prevent accidents. The blender will not turn on if the lid is not tightly sealed. Both blenders have the power on/off switch with a light indicator. The base has rubber padding to avoid rattling. And even if there is a mess on the counter, it won’t directly spoil the base because the rubber is easy to wipe clean with a dry cloth.
The blades are easy to clean even after blending stringy herbs in sauces, marinades, or dips. Both blenders feature a 7-year warranty. It’s a high-performance blender (both of them) with 2.2 motor rating.
4. Utilities
Let’s start with the tamper and cookbook that are included in both blenders. The included tamper is more useful than you think. For starters, it helps you scoop out everything quickly and easily. I found the tamper most helpful after making butter because it handles thick foods really easily where a plain spoon would not suffice.
The cookbook comes with loads of interesting ingredients plus their nutritional information so you are not left in the dark about what you’re cooking. If you have some health concerns, this is a life-saver!
Other features like the two-layer lid and convenient cord length make both Vitamix blenders fantastic competitors.

I am sure you love food. Otherwise, you won’t be here. As a full-time and a part-time chef at a local restaurant, I know my way around food. Ever since I was a young girl, I enjoyed helping my mom in the kitchen.
We would often experiment with the spices, ingredients, and flavors and create great meals for my brothers and dad. Since cocking was my first passion, I decided to go in that direction. I finished culinary school, got my first job, and started developing my skills.
Later when kids came, I had all the liberty in the kitchen to combine some of the unique flavors. A lot of them were a success, but now and there I would make a couple of mistakes.
