Vitamix A3500 vs Breville Super Q both are great representatives from two famous brands. Many people have difficulty deciding which blender is better. In this article, I will tell you about their differences, similarities, and pros and cons so that you can make a wise decision.
If you are dying to know, it will be the Vitamix A3500 that is my recommendation. The Vitamix A3500 performs better for most purposes than the Breville Super Q with a powerful 2.2 HP motor. Its five presets make your blending job much easier. It also doesn’t waste your time and effort to clean and maintain.
Breville Super Q is the runner-up, but it is also very worth buying. It has an incredibly powerful motor but is quieter than its counterpart. Blending jobs will be hassle-free as it also has five one-touch programs. The most important thing is that the Super is more budget-friendly than the Vitamix A3500.

Vitamix A3500 vs Breville Super Q: Differences
Vitamix A3500 won 4-1 in this comparison match. The Vitamix A3500 has a better blending performance. It is also easier to clean and maintain than the Super Q; easier to control, easier to use. However, the Breville Super Q is cheaper, but still a great blender.
1. Blending Performance
The winner: Vitamix A3500
+ Motor and Noise Level
The Vitamix A3500 has a 2.2-hp motor, which is the highest power capacity Vitamix provides in their blenders. Vitamix A3500 is a real beast as it is very strong that can blend any ingredients you put in it (Someone said it could crush an iPhone). This powerful motor will help you make many kinds of dishes easily and perfectly, from making smoothies, crushing ice, making ice cream, grinding grains, making hot soups, etc.
The Beville Super Q is also very powerful with an 1800 Watt motor that makes it possible to blend even the hardest of ingredients. This blender also provides you with the versatile ability to blend almost everything as you do in the Vitamix A3500. But when comparing the quality, the texture of the final results, I have to say that Vitamix A3500 has better blending capability (In the following sections, I will compare in more detail)
One thing that Super Q is better than the Vitamix A3500 is the noise level. I mean the Super Q is quieter than its counterpart because it has noise suppression technology. You may have realized that the “Super Q” in its name stands for “Super Quiet”. However, its motor can not be “super” or completely quiet because it is a high-power blender anyway. But its noise level is far lower than most blenders, including Vitamix A3500.
+ Blending Capability
I have tested their ability to make almond butter, smoothies, and crush ice and the final result is Vitamix A3500 is clearly the winner.
Almond Butter
With the Vitamix A3500, you can make almond butter that is exceptional. Only have to run the blender for four minutes and you will get smooth, sticky almond butter that can be spread easily on toast.
The Breville Super Q is also great for making almond butter. You can use the Puree preset on the blender to make it. The final texture is also smooth and slightly dry but I see very small pieces of nuts that have not been puréed. It seems like the blade on the Breville really whips up the nuts inside the blender. Therefore, you will need to stop the blender and use the tamper to push the nuts stuck in the side of the container towards the blades.
Smoothies
The Vitamix A3500 is indeed like what people think about this brand: Vitamix is an outstanding brand for making smoothies. I have a tip when making smoothies with Vitamix A3500. Don’t rush to use the “Smoothies” preset, let blend using the slowest speed for about 30 seconds before. With this tip, no matter what ingredients you use, you will certainly receive a silky smoothie with no grainy.
The Super Q also makes a silky, well-blended smoothie but may have some chunkiness, grainy in the mix, which isn’t too bad. You can use the blender with the Vac Q vacuum pump to improve the texture, colors, and flavors of smoothies, but you have to purchase this product separately.
So, I assess the ability to make Smoothies of Vitamix A3500 is better when both don’t have the help of other devices.
Crushed Ice
You can make incredible crushed ice with Vitamix A3500. To crush ice, using the “’Frozen Drink” preset and the whole process is in less than a minute. You receive crushed ice that looks like snow.
The Super Q does a decent job of crushing ice. But, again, it is not as good as the Vitamix A3500. Some ice cubes may not be fully crushed and the final result is clumpy and sticks together. I think this problem is because when grinding harsh ingredients like ice cubes, the blender will make the heat a little bit, and then the ice will melt and stick together.
2. Controls/Settings
The winner: Vitamix A3500
+ One-touch programs/Pre-programmed settings
Both Vitamix A3500 and Breville Super Q have five one-touch programs or pre-programmed settings. However, they are slightly different. Five presets on the Vitamix are smoothies, hot soups, dips & spreads, frozen desserts, and self-cleaning. And five presets on the Breville are smoothie, green smoothie, soup, frozen dessert, ice crush/ pulse function.
+ App-compatible
With the Vitamix A3500, you can even access more presets by using the Vitamix Perfect Blend companion app such as Dry Chopping, Nut Butters, Spice Grinding, Baby Food, etc. Of course, Breville also can make these dishes. But using presets will make your blending job hassle-free. You don’t need to fine-tune every single button to get desired texture, just push a button or choose a preset on the App.
+ Interface
Breville Super Q’s interface consists of one-touch buttons and an LCD indicator. The LCD display will show the time, speed, and pre-programmed you have selected. Moreover, there is a speed dial and you can rotate it to choose the speed level.
To control the Vitamix A3500, we use a speed dial and a touchscreen. Having the touchscreen gave the blender a very modern and sleek look.
Controlling the Vitamix A3500 is more intuitive to me. It feels more modern when just touching the screen, not having to push the physical buttons.
In addition, this interface also has an advantage in cleaning or maintaining the blender (I will make it clear in the following part)
3. Cleaning/Maintaining
The winner: Vitamix A3500
+ Cleaning and Maintaining
I have to say that both Vitamix A3500 and Breville Super Q are exceptionally easy to clean. They both have a preset for cleaning. And you can easily clean almost any mess just by running the Cleaning preset with soap and warm water. You may need to use a sponge to wipe the container and the lid afterward if any sticky residue remains, but it is really easy to complete. You can also toss all the containers, lids, and blade assemblies to the dishwasher as they are all dishwasher-safe, which can be a great help in a pinch.
But the factor that determines the winner is on maintaining the other parts of the blenders. Again, the Vitamix A3500 is the winner because it is not as easy to get dirty as the Breville Super Q and it is also easier to clean the whole machine than Breville’s product. The Breville Super Q has many areas that collect food particles such as the area touching the chrome base, the edge of buttons. Food particles also easily get stuck into the deep grooves in the lid. I think it is not easy to clean it unless you spend much effort and a sufficient amount of time cleaning it with the brush.
This problem doesn’t appear on the Vitamix A3500 frequently. Moreover, its touchscreen control is easily wiped clean. The blender always has a sleek appearance. So, maintaining the
+ Storage
When the container is attached to the base (and the lid also be placed), the whole Vitamix A3500 blender has a total height of roughly 17 inches while the Super Q’s height is 18.1 inches. As we all know, the standard kitchen cabinet’s height is about 18 inches. That means the Supper Q does not fit under the standard kitchen cabinet.
4. Other Utilities
The winner: Vitamix A3500
+ Accessories
We can see that Vitamix A3500 and the Breville Super Q are both have a high price tag, but they do not come with all the accessories you can use for blending. The box of Breville Super Q consists of a motor base, 68-oz container, 24-oz personal cup, blade system, a tamper, a spatula, and a cookbook. You can use the Vac Q on this blender if you want to improve the texture, colors, and flavors of your mixes. But you have to spend approximately $100 to buy this device separately.
Meanwhile, Vitamix A3500 only comes with a motor base, a 64-oz low-profile container, a tamper, and a cookbook. The other accessories such as 20-oz cup, 8-oz bowl, etc, you’ll have to buy separately.
+ Self-Detect Technology
The Self-detect technology is a technology only had on the Vitamix A3500. This technology helps the blender can read the container size you have put in the base and automatically adjust its program settings, speed, and maximum blending times accordingly. But we have to purchase these different-sized containers separately.
5. Price
The winner: Breville Super Q
In general, it can be said that both the Vitamix A3500 and the Breville Super Q are relatively expensive. At the time I wrote this article, the price on the web of Vitamix A3500 is $699.95 and of Breville Super Q is $549.95. So between the two blenders, the Super Q is much cheaper.
But they are both worth their cost. And you understood why Vitamix has a higher price after reading what I said above, didn’t you? If you want to save a little money, you can choose the Breville Super Q.
Vitamix A3500 vs Breville Super Q: Similarities
+ Material
Their containers are made of BPA-Free Plastic that doesn’t harm our health when making hot dishes. Their blades also have the same material that is stainless steel. It will last for a long time and never be rusted.
+ Blade
There is a slight similarity in the shape of the blades, but they are not identical. The blade assembly consists of four sharp blades. The blades of the Vitamix 5200 are flat, while those of the Super Q are serrated.
+ Variable Speed Control and Pulse Mode
Both Vitamix A3500 and Breville Super have some variable speed control so we can fine-tune the texture of any recipe. They also have a pulse mode.
It offers greater control of your blend. You can easily turn your machine on and off again to chop ingredients. It sometimes takes only a few pulses to get the perfect texture you want.
+ Cord Length
The power cord on the Vitamix A3500 is long and thick. I am sure that you will not have any problems reaching the outlets when using them as both have 4ft cord. Furthermore, you even can stow the cord of the Breville away when it is not in use, which is very neat.
+ Warranty
Vitamix and Breville are provided with an impressive warranty period that is 10 years. We can expect them to last for decades as they are made from high-quality materials and are easy to maintain. As long as they are properly maintained and cared for, I am confident that they will last more than 10 years of their warranty period

I am sure you love food. Otherwise, you won’t be here. As a full-time and a part-time chef at a local restaurant, I know my way around food. Ever since I was a young girl, I enjoyed helping my mom in the kitchen.
We would often experiment with the spices, ingredients, and flavors and create great meals for my brothers and dad. Since cocking was my first passion, I decided to go in that direction. I finished culinary school, got my first job, and started developing my skills.
Later when kids came, I had all the liberty in the kitchen to combine some of the unique flavors. A lot of them were a success, but now and there I would make a couple of mistakes.
