Between Vitamix A2500 vs V1200, Vitamix A2500 is a user-friendly and programmable blender for home and professional use. It has 3 blending programs, a large 64-ounce blender jar, and wireless connectivity.

In recognition of that, the Vitamix V1200 is more basic but versatile. It features the standard 10 variable speed setting with Pulse feature and 3 different blending jars. It can make everything from crushed ice to puree to smoothies.

But, unfortunately, you cannot pair the Vitamix V1200 to your phone or have 3 blending buttons for smoothies, hot soups, and frozen desserts (like the A2500).

For reasons that are very simple, the A2500 is far superior even though the V1200 is the upgraded version of the Ascent Series. With the Vitamix A2500, you can unlock more exciting features with your smartphone.

Vitamix A2500 vs V1200: Differences

The Vitamix A2500 wins 2 – 1 against the V1200. Though the V1200 is a great choice, on its own, but when compared to A2500, it lacks a few features such as wireless connectivity and blending modes.

1. Blending Performance

The Winner: Vitamix V1200

+Blending Sizes

Though this does not affect the blending performance of the blender directly, it does have a huge impact on what you can and cannot make with the Vitamix A2500 vs V1200.

The V1200 offers you the flexible option of picking how big or small a serving you want to blend. It features 3 different blending jars with versatile blades. The main blending jar, which is also the same on the A2500, measures 64 ounces. It’s BIG enough to make dough, ice cream, butter, curries, and hot soup. Not the ideal choice for a single serving. It’s too big, some people will tell you.

But then, the V1200 comes with a 20-ounce and 8-ounce blending jar also. This is very fortunate because it’s the ideal personal-size jar for everyone.

The A2500 offers only a 64-ounce blending jar – not more. It does, however, feature a self-detect technology that lets you use other Vitamix-compatible jars. But you have to purchase those jars separately.

The Vitamix V1200 offers you 3 different blending jars all in one. So it’s easier to use and maintain.

2. Controls / Settings

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

+Blending Programs

The A2500 comes with 3 blending pre-sets while the V1200 has none. They both, however, feature an easy and accurate 10-speed variable setting on their control panels.

But for quick, one-touch blending control, the A2500 is your pick. It has pre-programmed default modes for smoothies, frozen desserts, and lastly, for hot soup.

So while experienced users would know, by experience, which speed level is good for making a smoothie versus hot soup, for a beginner, the blending modes save time and effort.

If this seems attractive to you, the Vitamix A2500 has more programmability than the V1200.

+Wireless Connectivity

This blender also comes with a wireless feature that lets you connect to Vitamix’s companion app. With this app, you have access to more blending modes (up to 17) and recipes.

The V1200 is not Bluetooth-enabled like the A2500 is. You can also adjust the portion size when making complicated recipes while using the A2500. The app allows you to do that quickly and effectively without messing up the final result.

Unlike many high-powered blenders, wireless connectivity improves your overall experience of the blender. It’s easy for when you multitask in the kitchen, as most people do. And it also helps you adjust the number of ingredients when you wish to make more or less than the original serving size of the recipe.

3. Cleaning / Maintenance

The Winner: Vitamix A2500

+Portability

The Vitamix A2500 is a lightweight and portable blender with a single jar. The V1200, on the other hand, features more blending jars: 3 containers of 64, 20, and 8 ounces each. And it weighs almost 12 pounds while the A2500 weighs 11 pounds.

When you consider portability, be it for storage or counter space, the A2500 is a compact blender to keep. To accommodate the V1200, you will need to make more space in the kitchen cabinet.

The Vitamix A2500 features a 64-ounce blending jar. It’s large enough for more people. It can make blends for 2-6 people comfortably.

The Vitamix V1200 is more flexible in that it allows you to make different servings on the same motor base. The smallest serving is 8 ounces which is good for making fresh salad dressing, sauces, and other small treats. The 20-ounce blender jar is good for smoothies and fruit juices for 1 or 2 people.

The different blender jars also come with different blades which means more parts to store in the same cabinet. With the A2500, you have the main motor base with a blending jar and blades.

Vitamix A2500 vs V1200: Similarities

1. Digital Timer

The A2500 has a stopwatch/timer that displays the time of blending. So if you’ve been blending for 45 seconds from start to finish, the digital timer shows you that.

It is not programmable like many other blenders with digital timers. But it does the needful to give you an extra bit of information that you probably would have to buy a separate kitchen timer for. Or set a timer on your smartphone.

If you’re like me and you have trouble deciding the perfect blending time, having a timer at your disposal is a good idea.

Being decently well-built and stable, the timer of the A2500 is practical for everyday use. And the comparison that V1200 also offers the timer option with its versatile blending capacities is also very impressive.

2. 10 Variable Speeds

Vitamix 10 Variable Speeds
Vitamix 10 Variable Speeds

Both blenders feature 10-speed settings for texture control and consistency. It features a rotary dial for controlling the speed. It does a sufficient job of controlling the texture of various foods such as for making fruit juices, creamy smoothies, sauces, almond butter, dough, ice cream, etc.

Even if you add kale to your daily smoothie fix, you can make sure that the blades chop and puree every last piece of kale so you don’t have to taste it!

The maximum speed is good for making hot soup and cutting through hard ingredients easily. It can also crush ice, giving you a delicious and not-watery texture. Fine-tuning the texture just got easier with both the Vitamix A2500 vs V1200.

3. Power

Fortunately, both blenders feature a 2.2 HP motor with low noise performance. Both function as high-speed blenders with a pulse switch. They also have cooling fans to keep the motor cool and safe, which is especially important when making hot soup.

The motor is powerful enough to crush ice in seconds and not emit a splitting noise while doing so. Features like the tough exterior, heavy-duty stainless steel blades, and well-insulated blender jar make it a comfortable blending experience.

Lastly, both blenders also come with the same 10-year warranty and 4-feet cord length.
