The Blendtec 725 is a better blender than the Vitamix for the simple reason that it’s designed with more customizable features and has a large blending capacity. But the Vitamix A2500 does not fall too far behind as it features a quieter motor and it can blend hot soups which the Blendtec cannot do.
Vitamix A2500 vs Blendtec 725 are quite well-known and high-powered, the top choice is the Blendtec 725 for beginners and experienced users. It’s fast, intuitive, and modern to use.
The Vitamix A2500 has a stellar build quality with 3 blending modes and 10 speeds. It has a longer 10-year warranty while the Blendtec features an 8-year warranty card. And Vitamix’s 2.2 motor produces less noise with 4 blades that won’t dull over time. The Blendtec has 2 stainless steel blades that are blunt and wing-tipped.

Vitamix A2500 vs Blendtec 725: Differences
The Blendtec 725 wins 3 – 2 against the Vitamix A2500 because it offers more nuanced speed and the ultimate blender for heavy-duty use. It’s got more programmable features than the Vitamix – 100 speeds and 8 pre-programmed blending programs.
1. Blending Performance
The Winner: It’s a Tie
+Motor
The Blendtec 725 features a powerful motor that is supportive of its whopping 90-ounce blending capacity. It features a 3.8 HP motor that is suited to excellent blending speed and durable performance.
The Vitamix A2500, on the other hand, features a 2.2 HP motor with a 64-ounce blending jar. It’s less power-driven than the Blendtec, for sure, but provided that it also comes with a smaller blending jar.
So on the basis of power alone, the Blendtec 725 has more horsepower for manual and automatic blending needs.
+Hot Soup Blending
In saying that the Vitamix A2500 can blend wet and dry ingredients and hot and frozen ingredients is a huge advantage because you cannot say the same for the Blendtec.
The Blendtec is supportive of dry, wet, and frozen ingredients only. This means it can make smoothies, juices, sauces, marinades, crushed ice, etc. Anything that is either room temperature or cold.
For hot soup, the Blendtec 725 is not at all compatible. Only the Vitamix can blend the hot soup with its high friction blades. It has built-in program modes for smoothies, frozen drinks, and hot soup. So you won’t have to guess the speed as well. It’s automatic and user-friendly.
In my research, I found that this had something to do with the Blendtec having 2 blades only. It’s not enough to create friction to heat up and blend soups. The Vitamix A2500 features 4 blades which is essentially the ideal setup for hot soups.
2. Controls / Settings
The Winner: Blendtec 725
+Variable (Adjustable) Speeds
If blending for you is more than just a hobby, and you want something professional-grade and functional to use, the Blendtec’s 100 variable speed slider is what you need. It gives you more room to control the texture of the food. And the modern touchscreen panel takes automatic blending with control to a whole new level.
The Vitamix A2500 features a 10-speed variable rotary dial with 3 pre-programmed blending modes. It’s easy to use with the conventional speed dial and switches.
But you’ll benefit more from the polished and sleek design of the Blendtec. It comes equipped with 8 pre-programmed settings plus 100 speeds! It covers both manual and automatic blending at the tap (or slide) of the touchscreen.
Other models from the Vitamix Ascent series, like the A2300, give you wireless connectivity and the Vitamix app on your phone to sync with it. The app has 17 more blending modes and a timer feature.
But the A2500 is not one of those top-tier Ascent models. It does, however, feature a digital timer with Bluetooth that automatically self-detects different container sizes. But that’s something that even the Blendtec 725 offers. So there’s no enhancement of programmability here.
+Blending Capacity
Choosing between Vitamix A2500 vs Blendtec 725 is a matter of personal expectations. If you’re looking for a more comfortable and practical blender, the Blendtec allows you to blend from 36 to 90 ounces quickly and effectively.
So it’s compatible with smaller servings and extremely large ones.
But, in the case of the 64-ounce blender of Vitamix A2500, it’s not always reasonable to use small servings. Because the blender requires at least 2 cups of ingredients before it can start blending smoothly and efficiently.
While both blenders are sturdy and durable, the Blendtec gives you more room for adding or removing ingredients while the serving size on the Vitamix is fixed.
3. Cleaning & Maintenance
The Winner: Vitamix A2500
+Noise
Because the Blendtec has more horsepower than the Vitamix A2500, chances are that it is also noisier. It’s not a flaw in that all high-wattage blenders are loud so you can’t expect them to run quietly. But if noise is a concern for you, say you have children or pets who get frightened easily and are sensitive to loud noises, it’s better to opt for the Vitamix blender because it’s more pet-friendly, neighbor-friendly, and safe.
+Tamper
This is also where the Vitamix A2500 takes the prize. It comes with a sturdy and handy tamper that lets you stir, scrape, and blend more effectively.
The Blendtec 725, on the other hand, does not include a tamper. The manufacturers ensure that no tamper is actually required because of its unique technology. The blender automatically pushes the ingredients toward the blades which eliminates the need for a tamper.
But I find that a tamper is a handy tool that helps me stir and scrape the sides of the blender while pouring. If not to push the food down and break down tough ingredients which the Blendtec claims to do automatically, the tamper helps make the pouring and cleaning process much easier in general.
It even has a hole in the lid from where I can insert the tamper to push the food down without stopping the blending. This helps when I’m making puree, hot soup, and such delicate recipes.
4. Utilities
The Winner: Blendtec 725
+Size
Both have the same weight – 11 lbs – the Blendtec 725 is more compact than the A2500. Despite the Vitamix A2500 being a 64-ounce blender and the Blendtec 725 having a blending capacity from 36 ounces to 90 ounces, the Blendtec which should have been bulkier is actually more portable than the Vitamix.
The flexibility in the blending capacity also makes the Blendtec 725 a suitable choice for single-serve uses. The 64-ounce jar on the Vitamix is more powerful than the Blendtec but it requires more ingredients to blend at one time.
+Control Panel
Seems like the Blendtec 725 offers a more sleek, intelligent, and hands-free approach to blending than the Vitamix. Because of its stainless steel and LED touchscreen display, it’s more attractive than the rotary dial and switches of the Vitamix A2500.
But, after deep research into both blenders, I found that the Blendtec’s touch slider for speed (100 speeds!) is very responsive. So you have to be very careful with the slider because you may end up increasing the speed without meaning to.
This gives the Vitamix an edge over the Blendtec because its rotary dial is accurate and rugged. There won’t be a slip there while adjusting the speed from 1 to 10. And, frankly speaking, I find the 100 speeds on the Blendtec a bit too confusing.
I’m one of those users who think ‘less is more’ while meal prepping. Anything to eliminate the guesswork in the kitchen.
So the usability of the control panel really comes down to what you prefer.
Vitamix A2500 vs Blendtec 725: Similarities
1. Portability
Both blenders are lightweight kitchen appliances for daily use. They weigh around 11 pounds which is not bad at all considering that both are high-powered blenders with variable speed and a large blending capacity.
Granted that the Blendtec has a bigger blending jar than the Vitamix. But I find no complaint of bulkiness or overloading because of their weight.
2. BPA-Free Materials
BPA-free Tritan is a popular plastic used in kitchen appliances. Basically, anything that comes in direct contact with food. And with blenders, this is essential because plastics with BPA bleed toxins into the food even at room temperature. Such plastics also look worn out and start attracting odor which you can’t eliminate no matter how many times you rinse it.
Speaking of cleaning, both blenders also feature dishwasher-safe parts which include the blender jar, lid, and blades.
Thankfully, both blenders feature BPA-free plastic containers and lids. The blades are stainless steel, not sharp but edgy and flat. This makes them more durable than before.
3. Pulse Button
With the pulse feature, the motor produces short bursts of power that add the finishing touches for a lump-free and creamy texture. So you can expect no unprocessed chunks in your food.
The pulse/turbo mode is very essential in kitchen blenders. Especially for high-powered and versatile blending purposes.
It also gets rid of any air bubbles from your blend, for example, when making hummus or a smoothie bowl, an air bubble is the last thing you need to see. While making butter or kneading dough, the pulse feature that creates enough power to smush the unwanted chunks/lumps from the smooth consistency.

I am sure you love food. Otherwise, you won’t be here. As a full-time and a part-time chef at a local restaurant, I know my way around food. Ever since I was a young girl, I enjoyed helping my mom in the kitchen.
We would often experiment with the spices, ingredients, and flavors and create great meals for my brothers and dad. Since cocking was my first passion, I decided to go in that direction. I finished culinary school, got my first job, and started developing my skills.
Later when kids came, I had all the liberty in the kitchen to combine some of the unique flavors. A lot of them were a success, but now and there I would make a couple of mistakes.
