It can be challenging to decide which Vitamix to buy between the Vitamix 7500 vs 6500 because both are great blenders that come from a legendary company. We are going to make a quick comparison of the Vitamix 6500 and 7500 in this post by taking an in-depth look at their features and addressing differences and similarities so that you can choose the best blender.
If you are just dying to know, the Vitamix 6500 is our winner because it performs much better than the 7500 model. The three different pre-programmed modes make it a little bit easier to use, which is perfect for anyone who’s amateur or in a hurry. The 6500 is also more budget-friendly than the 7500. From my perspective, the 6500 is clearly the best choice for casual cooks.
The Vitamix 7500, on the other hand, will be better suited to the needs of the serious cook who does not need the additional presets. Moreover, your ears will not feel uncomfortable when using the 6500 because the 7500 has noise dampening. It is a newer version, so the price is slightly higher.

Vitamix 7500 vs 6500: Differences
The Final Winner: Vitamix 6500 (2-1)
The most important difference is that while the Vitamix 6500 has three presets, the 7500 doesn’t have any and the 6500 is also cheaper. But the 7500 beats the 6500 when it comes to having noise dampening for motor noise that is lacking in the 6500.
1. Motors And Noise Level
The Winner: Vitamix 7500
Both the 7500 and the 6500 have 2.2 peak horsepower motors. If you are like me, just a normal person, when looking at these numbers can only conclude that their motors are the same. If that is the case, why am I pointing out the difference?
The 7500 uses a new generation motor that has some improvements over the motor of the 6500 machines. Because the 6500 is a member of the C-Series, its base doesn’t have noise dampening insulation. The 7500, however, comes with noise dampening insulation that, according to some reports, reportedly reduces the noise levels by 40%.
It is a nice improvement to have this noise reduction feature, but for most models, it isn’t much of an improvement. Although they have high power, the truth is that both machines are still loud. When you crush ice cubes, the sound dampening doesn’t really help much at all.
Anyway, quieter is quieter. So the Vitamix 7500 is the winner in this case.
In addition, the base of the Vitamix 7500 ensures that it will run cooler than the Vitamix 6500 so the blenders will have a longer life expectancy. It is not just an advertisement. It is true. I haven’t encountered an overheating blender when grinding harsh ingredients when using the Vitamix 7500.
2. Controls
The Winner: Vitamix 6500
The biggest difference we can see easily between Vitamix 7500 vs 6500 is the presets. While the 6500 has three presets, the 7500 has none. These presets are Smoothie, Hot Soup, and Frozen Dessert that make the process easier.
You will not have to adjust each button and switch to make a smoothie, hot soup, or frozen dessert. All you need to do is choose a preset and let the Vitamix 6500 do all the rest. It will grind, blend until the mix achieves the ideal texture. And it will also stop itself when it reaches that result. You won’t have to worry about over-blending. These presets seem very useful if you are a busy cook like me.
Of course, Vitamix 7500 can also make these kinds of food and much, much more. The difference is that you will have to figure out how to get these things done by yourself instead.
For most, learning how to blend food using variable speed options usually isn’t too difficult. However, if you want a blender that will keep things as simple as possible, then you should go for the 6500.
3. Price
The Winner: Vitamix 6500
In terms of price, both of these units are pretty close to each other, with both units tending toward the higher end of the price range. However, selecting Vitamix 6500 still saves you a little bit of money compared to Vitamix 7500. The cheaper 6500 costs about $50 less than the more expensive 7500.
I am sure you will feel it’s strange when seeing that the 6500 has presets that the 7500 lacks, but the 6500 is slightly cheaper. Most likely, the 7500 is slightly more expensive since it is newer.
But are we paying attention to quality, not a new version, right? That is why I think the 6500 is worth the money. In conclusion, the Vitamix 6500 is the winner in terms of price.

I am sure you love food. Otherwise, you won’t be here. As a full-time and a part-time chef at a local restaurant, I know my way around food. Ever since I was a young girl, I enjoyed helping my mom in the kitchen.
We would often experiment with the spices, ingredients, and flavors and create great meals for my brothers and dad. Since cocking was my first passion, I decided to go in that direction. I finished culinary school, got my first job, and started developing my skills.
Later when kids came, I had all the liberty in the kitchen to combine some of the unique flavors. A lot of them were a success, but now and there I would make a couple of mistakes.
