I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

While both the Ninja BN801 vs BL770 are multi-functional and versatile picks, you have to buy only one for your home. So which one would that be?

I’ve found more perks in using the Ninja BN801 because it’s a noteworthy and superior choice. On top of blending, pulsing, and crushing that both blenders do, it also features a chopping setting. So it is more flexible than the Ninja BL770 with more Auto-iQ settings.

The BN801 also features a faster blending speed at maximum setting than the BL770. It also features 4 variable speeds on top of its programmable blending modes. The BL770 features 4 Auto-iQ modes, multiple carafes, and sturdy and durable housing.

Ninja BN801 vs BL770: Differences

The Ninja BN801 wins 3 – 1 against the BL770. It’s superior to the BL770 because it comes with a chopping setting and faster blending speed. Both blenders offer the same blending capacities and one-touch blending features.

1. Blending Performance

The Winner: Ninja BN801

Ninja BN801 Blending Performance
Ninja BN801 Blending Performance

+Blending Speed

Even though there is a difference of 1,400 watts and 1,500 watts between the Ninja BN801 and BL770. The BN801 has a higher running speed. This affects the blending speed of both blenders, making the Ninja BN801 faster than the BL770.

So the blending speed of the BN801 is between 4,100 to 5,200 RPM. And that of the BL770 is from 3,200 to 4,500 RPM. For some, this is a significant improvement in blending speed, and overall blending performance.

The BN801 is better equipped at handling tough ingredients and blending them at higher speeds. The BL770, too, is fit for blending all kinds of ingredients but its highest speed runs slower in comparison to what the BN801 offers.

As a good food processor and countertop blender, the Ninja BN801 is a better competitor for the price than the BL770.

2. Controls / Settings

The Winner: Ninja BN801

Ninja BN801 Settings

+Programmable Settings

The BN801 features 5 auto-iQ settings: smoothie, ice crush, extract, chop, and dough. The BL770 features 4 auto-iQ settings: dough, blend, crush, and single-serve which is for smoothies. So the chopping settings are missing in the BL770.

If you prepare food in larger quantities, the chopping setting may come in handy. It’s powerful and consistent. And it chops vegetables and fruits with ease. You can also add blocks of cheese and it’ll chop that up very smoothly.

Lots of people have also used it to chop, not crush, ice cubes and the BN801 does it well.

So the slightly higher price of the BN801 is worth the investment as it improves your quality of prepping for meals and saves your time so you don’t have to chop up ingredients by hand.

+Speed

The Ninja BN801 comes with 5 auto-iQ settings and 4 manual speed programs that allow you to adjust the blending speed. The Ninja BL770 does not feature variable speed control, only the 4 auto-iQ settings. It does, however, feature a Pulse feature that comes in handy for blending in short bursts at the highest speed.

On the BN801, you can select from Low, Medium, High, and Pulse settings. This allows you to have more control over your blending. You can combine different blending programs with different speeds to find what works best for you.

3. Utilities

The Winner: It’s A Tie!

+Container Size

Now, both the Ninja BN801 and BL770 are mega kitchen systems. This means they offer multiple blending sizes in a single package. You don’t have to pay extra for getting your hands on different sizes.

The Ninja BN801 features an 8-cup processor bowl measuring 64-ounces, a 72-ounce blender pitcher, and 2 x 24-ounces pitchers that also double as serving cups with to-go lids.

The Ninja BL770 features the same 8-cup processor bowl measuring 64-ounces, a 72-ounce blender pitcher, but it features 2 x 16-ounces pitchers as serving cups with to-go lids.

So the serving cups of the BL770 are smaller in size than the BN801. So it’s a difference but there is no bad opponent here. You can decide which blender you want based on the size of their serving cups – 24 ounces or 16 ounces. The rest of the blending capacities of both Ninja BN801 vs BL770 are the same.

Ninja BN801 vs BL770: Similarities

1. Design

Ninja Blender Design
Ninja Blender Design

Both blenders feature a similar weight – 8.8 pounds and 9.2 pounds respectively. And they measure almost the same size so there’s no distinction in how you can store both blenders in your kitchen.

It’s obvious that both blenders are sizable kitchen appliances so you have to make room for them on your countertop. But I don’t see any cause for concern when comparing their weight and dimensions.

Both blenders also feature the same BPA-free plastic carafe materials that are dishwasher-safe with secure lids and high-quality stainless steel blades. With different carafe sizes, the blades differ in their blending mechanisms. You have the food processor bowl with a different set of blades, a blender pitcher with stainless steel blades, and the serving cups with different blades.

So it’s a combination of 2 to 4 blades that complement the auto iQ settings of the BN801 and BL770.

2. Auto-iQ Technology

Ninja Auto-iQ Technology
Ninja Auto-iQ Technology

The Auto-iQ Technology adjusts the blending speed and intensity depending on the size of the carafe you use and the program you select. So that there are no gaps in the blending results – no lumps, chunks, or strings of unblended foods.

This applies to chopping (for BN801) and blending, crushing, pulsing, and extracting in the case for both blenders – the Auto-iQ technology keeps things steady and consistent.

Definitely a step ahead of standard food processors and blenders. The timer functionality automatically detects what’s best for the blend so you don’t have to guess.

3. Noise Level

Both blenders make the minimum level of noise that is expected from food processors or blenders for home use. To be specific, the noise levels of the Ninja BN801 and  BL770 are 23 to 50 dB – this is not bad at all.

It’s safe for daily use. Won’t wake up family members were you blend a smoothie early morning. And it won’t scare your pet with the loud noise that blenders usually make that scares away my dogs!

4. Cleaning

All the important parts, including the containers, lids, and blades, are dishwasher-safe. You won’t find a specific cleaning program installed but you can add warm water and soap to blend it for 20-30 seconds. This should get rid of any food residue from under the blades.

The Pulse button, for this very purpose, can come in handy as it produces short bursts of powerful blending speed that you can switch on/off depending on your needs.

Both blenders feature a 1-year warranty on their parts with a motor protected by a cooling fan. This prevents overheating and keeps the motor running efficiently without overloading or making a loud noise at higher speeds or during longer running times.
